Dinner should be the lightest meal of the day and the day should be divided up into four to five small meals. These two forms of exercise increase the flow of oxygen through the body, making it burn more calories as a result. These forms of exercise also result in the growth of the muscle mass of the body. When the muscles grow, they utilize more calories, leading to the speeding up of the metabolism over a period of time. Water is emphasized as a great way to speed up metabolism. When you drink very cold water, it naturally leads to a drop in the over all temperature of the body. To counteract this, the body starts to burn calories and fat and bring up the temperature to its normal degree. When this process is repeated a number of times in succession, slowly the body adapts to the burning of calories and makes it a natural process thereby speeding up the metabolism.
