Home Remedies for Vitiligo, Natural Treatment

Vitiligo is the white spot (chalk type), patches and streaks of the skin and hair where pigmentation shows abnormality due to loss of the pigment cells. Once these cells are destructed, no more pigments are formed on the skin. The spot occurs on both the sides of the skin. It occurs due to the autoimmune system, where the body starts attacking its own pigments and destroys them. It is not so common around the world and only about one percentage of the world's population gets affected due to Vitiligo.

In order to cure the Vitiligo, one has to strengthen his immune system. For this purpose, there are some home remedies that can be implemented for efficient treatment of Vitiligo. Turmeric can be a good immune booster and can act as an antiseptic. Mixture of turmeric with mustard oil can be an effective home remedy against Vitiligo. Add about 4 to 6 teaspoon of turmeric powder in 200 ml of mustard oil and massage the Vitiligo affected area.

A mixture consisting lime juice along with basil leaves can be used as a home remedy in treating Vitiligo. Apply the mixture on the skin on regular basis and an improvement will be visible in about 4 months. Try to drink water that is kept in a copper utensil. Consumption of this water will stimulate the production of pigment cells in the body. It is one of the economical measures that can be followed. Use of herbs like, psoralea and tamarind, can also be very effective against Vitiligo. Soak the seeds of psoralea and tamarind for 3 to 4 days and afterwards, make the paste of this mixture. Apply the paste on to the affected areas.

In order to enhance the blood circulation in the body, ginger can be used. It is an anti-inflammatory vegetable. Soak the psoralea seeds in ginger juice for 5 days and blend it to a fine powder. Take few grams of the powder with the milk on regular basis. Also, a paste containing radish seeds along with vinegar can provide profitable gains in fighting against Vitiligo.

Mama-cadela can also be used as a home remedy in the treatment of Vitiligo. The combination of the roots of mama-cadela and water should be implemented on to the white spots. Also, a paste formed by the combination of coconut oil, psoralea and barberry plant is an emphatic solution for Vitiligo related problems.

Use of gingko biloba helps in establishment of the pigment cells in the body and thus, helps in fighting against Vitiligo. One should avoid the intake of coffee and yoghurt if he or she is suffering from Vitiligo. Also, cleanliness has to be maintained by bathing at least twice a day and taking sun bath if possible. One should try to indulge cucumber in the daily diet and eat citrus fruit whenever possible.

Treatment of Vitiligo is a time consuming process. So, a lot of patience is required during its treatment. But if no sign of improvement is shown within 3 to 4 months, one should consult a specialist.
